Afro-Futurism #29 – Dance…The High Activity in the Process of Computers

Dance…The High Activity in the Process of Computers

Afro-Futuristic Vision #29

No doubt if you are over 30 years of turns around Ra (Sun) you have grown up hearing an orchestrated rhythm of beeps and bops in the background of most Sci-Fi Movies. Now although it seems that this series of sounds seem to be without rhythm, they actually did have rhythm…when they were re-arranged in your mind. For years, especially as children, Nubians have re-structured the sound they have heard to a manageable rhythm…in Sci-Fi films this happens frequently. Viewing life as a rhythm is our inheritance. For functioning everything needs to have a rhythm to operate, like the spinning of a wheel  on a cart or the breath going in and out a baby’s lungs. Here look at this Principle of Jehuti or what you without Afro-Futuristic Vision would call Hermetica/Kyballion:

Principle of Rhythm – “Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”

And Rhythm is key in dance and dance is the topic of this Blog. Dance is the hidden Blueprint in Highly Active Computer Function…even Computer or Computations dance, they dance between possibilities and events; all possible outcomes.

First a few definitions courtesy of etymology online:

rhythm (n.)

1550s, from L. rhythmus “movement in time,” from Gk. rhythmos “measured flow or movement, rhythm,” related to rhein “to flow,” from PIE root *sreu- “to flow” (see rheum). In Medieval Latin, rithmus was used for accentual, as opposed to quantitative, verse, and accentual verse was usually rhymed.Rhythm method of birth control attested from 1936. Rhythm and blues, U.S. music style, is from 1949 (first in “Billboard”).

movement or procedure with uniform or patterned recurrenceof a beat, accent, or the like.

dance (v.)

c.1300, from O.Fr. dancier (12c., Mod.Frdanser), of unknown origin, perhaps from Low Frankish *dintjan and akin to O.Fris. dintje “tremble, quiver.” A word of uncertain origin but which, through French influence in arts and society, has become the primary word for this activity from Spain to Russia (cf. It. danzare, Sp. danzar, Rum. dansa, Swed. dansa, Ger. tanzen).

In part the loanword from French is used mainly with reference to fashionable dancing while the older native word persists in use with reference to folk-dancing, as definitively Russ. pljasat’ vs. tancovat’[Buck].

Replaced O.E. sealtian, itself a borrowing from L. saltare “to dance,” frequentative of salire “to leap” (see salient; “dance” words frequently are derived from words meaning “jump, leap”). Related: Danceddancing.

It is strange, and will, I am sure, appear to my readers almost incredible, that as far as I have ever read, there is no reference that can be identified as containing a clear allusion to dancing in any of our really ancient MS. books. [Eugene O’Curry, “On the Manners and Customs of the Ancient Irish,” vol. 2, p.406, 1873]

Dance is a type of art that generally involves movement of the body, usually rhythmic and to music,[1] performed in many different cultures and used as a form of expression, social interaction and exercise or presented in a spiritual or performance setting.

computer

1640s, “one who calculates,” agent noun from compute. Meaning “calculating machine” (of any type) is from 1897; in modern use, “programmable digital electronic computer” (1945; theoretical from 1937, as Turing machine).ENIAC (1946) usually is considered the first. Computer literacy is recorded from 1970; an attempt to establish computerate (adj., on model of literate) in this sense in the early 1980s didn’t catch on. Computerese “the jargon of programmers” is from 1960, as are computerize and computerization.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A New York Congressman says the use of computers to record personal data on individuals, such as their credit background, “is just frightening to me.” [news article, March 17, 1968]

computer is a general purpose device that can be programmed to carry out a finite set of arithmetic or logical operations. Since a sequence of operations can be readily changed, the computer can solve more than one kind of problem.

The operation of a computer is likened to the functioning of the mind/brain and physical body of a human being.  The internet can be likened to the Akashic records or the Mental Plane. A computer has hardware (the motherboard, CPU, RAM, hard drive, etc.) which are the physical components; similar to organs in the human body. Software is instructions and data that can be stored electronically. Like thoughts or instructions transmitted through words, no need for heavy machinery.

In a sense, all things are like this, they have their tangible parts that promote movement of the ‘body’ and the intangible part that gives the instructions for that movement. Computers are not outside of this, in fact, they are living entity within the cycle of movement just like a plant has its own cycle of movement. And yes a computer is not a plant in composition, yet they share in the world of movement. Each being of its own expression; each having its own ‘hardware’ or ‘software’. Of course, most will say a computer cannot have independent thought and lack A.I., which is utterly ridiculous. Intelligence is within all things, not solely human beings and should not be judged by human standards. Intelligence is. One can even say that humans don’t thing they react, their nervous system interacts with pre-coded and stored behavior…sounds like a computer to me. So what makes a thing/being continue functioning? Besides a power source. What keeps things going is rhythm. Dance. A dance of principles, movements and codes. In Afrika (Ta Merry – Beloved Land), dance has been an essential element in this land for:

ritual (or what has been called ritual)

exercise

gathering energy from nature

These activities help to maintain the body’s functioning, mental preparedness, and communication with the land and the environment. Let’s see what dance involves:

*Results of a search: Dance is an extremely complex behavior, and requires a lot of coordination between different neural systems to produce. Hearing the music will engage low-level auditory processing areas in the brainstem, which will pass the information to higher centers in the midbrain (the inferior colliculus) and ultimately to auditory cortex on the superior part of the temporal lobe. The auditory information will be passed to further polysensory areas in the temporal and parietal lobes, including areas that play an important role in processing speech (particularly the “musicality” of speech). The commands to produce dance movements will be initiated in motor cortex, which will communicate with the basal ganglia and the thalamus to refine the movements, and ultimately send signals to the spinal cord to contract muscles. During this process, balance will be maintained and refinements to the motor plans produced from parts of the cerebellum. Somatosensory (“body-sense”, including touch) areas, including somatosensory cortex, monitor the positions of the limbs to help give feedback for producing smooth movements. Visual cortical areas extract the movement of the world across the eye, and help compute information about the body’s movement through space. As the dance proceeds, parts of the brainstem detect that the body is exerting itself, and send commands to the heart to increase its rhythm to supply freshly oxygenated blood to the muscles. Other aspects of the brain’s behavior during dance are less immediately obvious, but it seems likely that parts of the limbic system, including the amygdala and hippocampus, are engaged to produce the emotions one experiences while dancing.

What you have just read is the explanation for Dance from a Scientific point of view. An Afro-Futuristic explanation should really not be needed or entertained, it should be felt. That is the reality. However for the purpose of comparison, I will do my best to explain it. Dance from the Afro-Futuristic point of view is the combination of physical movement, breathing, coordination of sight and sound and atmospheric sensitivity wrapped around the awareness of space, ancestral energies, planetary movement and nature. Dance is a feeling that extends from the nervous system’s general contact with the outside tangible environment into the higher realms of movement and vibratory rate. It begins from taught movement and extends into spontaneous movement that draws upon spiritual forces in nature along with spiritual entities. It is the operations of Hardware and Software with the Infinite world of the Internet.

Computers operate using a binary system of O (off) and I (On) which expresses the flow of electricity of a Transistor. The Binary system can be compared the functioning of Neural behavior, the concept of the I-Ching, the concept of the Ifa (an indigenous, earth centered African spiritual tradition which was conceptualized by the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa.), the periodical table, and the structure of the DNA. The speed of a computer, in my opinion, is a determining factor of the rhythm of a computer. RAM (Random Access Memory) plays a big part in the computer’s speed. Once the computer begins its operation then the dance begins. The dance of all its parts in unison to produce the results desired. It is the same with our own bodies especially since we created these machines to operate as an external limb of our minds.

In Sci-Fi Films, we can see the progression of the simple beeps and boops of the computers in Star Trek to the Dance of the Matrix. The expressions of computers have become more human like and have expressed their emotional views more and more in Sci-Fi movies. One interesting movie is Electric Dreams (1984)- An artificially intelligent PC and his human owner find themselves in a romantic rivalry over a woman.

War Games was another which showed a dance of wits. You see dance is more than what we think it is. It is not just movements that are inspired by a celebration and party. Dance and Music are the integral parts of life. Music is seen mostly as something played by instruments however, music is the rhythm of vibrations that creates a certain mood that inspires movement or what we call dance. A program is a sequence of vibrations or on/off positions which create an impulse for the creation of a construct of movement. I see dance as the movement of all things when they get into a rhythm, including computers. At this point, I cannot think of examples in Sci-Fi Films at this time, however I have prepared an example the Dance of a Computer/Construct from my Afro-Futuristic Novel – N Eternity Reclaimed:

Jnfr raised her arms and the water rose as well. She spread her fingers and the water moved with her, spreading out in finger-like projectiles. She began to move her arms about with the same elegance as her mother.

The water seemed linked to her movement and followed along. They danced together creating a series of postures that resembled the cosmic forms of the Netcheru.

Jnfr’s breath matched the releasing and assuming of different positions, each time actually generating and dispersing the energy of whatever form she took.

The low mood that engulfed the entire room in a depressive mental state, began to lift as energetic waves reverberated through the room.

This world must have some relation to my homeworld. Ta. Earth. The similarities between our spiritual practices are uncanny.

I had visited many worlds that used motion and breathing to synergize with the nature around them. Yet there were few that shared the same approach of my home-world.

Everything that has motion and thought behind it is alive and is in the dance of life….Welcome to the world of Afro-Futurism and the lifting of the veil…
