Afro-Futuristic Vision #25
Once again and without any angst, in simple conversation it was proven to me that Science and Science Fiction may have a tinge of colonialism within its expression. I say this without anger or biased attitude, knowing that Science deserves a place in human perception just as much as spiritualism (although these words are just constructs for human thought and are not based on reality…another time).
When you have a conversation with someone who is a scientist or into sci-fi, you may notice that anything that does not fit into the frame of ‘scientific evidence’ or ‘discoveries of man’ will immediately be deemed as non-existent and dismissed. Similar to how visitors to the so-called dark continent dismissed the culture born from the land they wanted in the name of the advance of Mankind. A new discovery. Whether of land or of scientific operation.
It is a strange thing when man has to ‘discover’ himself, set-up formulas and get others to agree them in order to substantiate what has been in operation longer than his precious ‘reality’ of time. Truly man does not know himself…the act of knowing needs no formula. However there are those who use formulas as a tool to enhance their connection to nature…nothing more.
A scientific approach is truly no different than a spiritual approach to learning about Nature yet the observer tends to neglect that they are ‘plugged in’ to the operation. This lack of connection is usually replaced with a false sense of entitlement. In a sense, Scientist are just like the Shaman/Medicine Men…both have chants, charts and special garbs. Which leads me to my topic for blogging.
I had a discussion with someone and the topic of Reincarnation came up. And although I sought to express how our genes operate to transport spirit and soul or a person’s personal energy signature (since I didn’t want to go into my perception of soul and spirit then attempt to explain to them in scientific terms), the conversation pretty much stood still from there. And then I asked what kind of proof would you need…no more words were exchanged after that.
From a scientific point of view, Reincarnation cannot take place because it appears that they do not observe nor acknowledge an energetic duplicate of the body, spirit or soul that has its own consciousness. Once your body ceases metabolic function…you are dead. Once you go cold…dead. Once the lungs discontinue taking in breath and releasing it…dead. So human life is based on the body transporting, producing heat and taking breath in and out. Movement.
From a spiritual point of view, the real you leaves your body and determines whether or not what will be its next experience…memories may be wiped away as well depending on a person’s growth…this is the short version. And this can be explained very scientifically if one took a moment to do so.
Yet Science and Science Fiction secretly acknowledge Reincarnation…as long as they can control it…cloning.
Cloning is the Philosophy of Science-Fiction. Let’s stop for a moment.
1903, in botany, from Gk. klon “a twig, spray,” related to klados “sprout, young branch, offshoot of a plant,” possibly from PIE root *kel- “to strike, cut” (see holt).
Cloning in biology is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduceasexually. Cloning in biotechnology refers to processes used to create copies of DNA fragments (molecular cloning),cells (cell cloning), or organisms. The term also refers to the production of multiple copies of a product such as digital media or software.
The term clone is derived from the Ancient Greek word κλών (klōn, “twig”), referring to the process whereby a new plant can be created from a twig. In horticulture, the spelling clon was used until the twentieth century; the final e came into use to indicate the vowel is a “long o” instead of a “short o”. Since the term entered the popular lexicon in a more general context, the spelling clone has been used exclusively.
c.1300, from O.Fr. filosofie (12c.), from L. philosophia, from Gk.philosophia “love of knowledge, wisdom,” from philo- “loving” (seephilo-) + sophia “knowledge, wisdom,” from sophis “wise, learned;” of unknown origin.
In an abundance of Sci-Fi Films cloning takes place, and usually the person’s cloned is an exact duplicate of the origin. However, what seems to be missing at times is a lack of memories and the spark of the soul/spirit. And in some cases, the soul and spirit is transported. And I give credit where credit is due because some of these films touch upon cloning and reincarnation as work of the GODs aka Aliens aka evolved beings who were once like us….Nommos, Annunaqi, Iggigi, Netcheru and so on. The Bible itself is like one long science experiment along with the Enuma Elish (Sumerian Tablet)
Genesis 2:21 – So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.
Tablet VI – They bound him, holding him before Ea. They imposed on him his punishment and severed his blood vessels. Out of his blood they fashioned mankind. He imposed on him the service and let free the gods. After Ea, the wise, had created mankind…Had imposed upon them the service of the gods…
Star Trek (Nemesis)
The 6th Day
Resident Evil (entire series)
Fire in the Sky
The Fourth Kind
(although the last three deal more with Alien Abduction)
What is interesting that in the Resident Evil series, each one of the duplicates of Alice seemed to have the same spirit, if not the same personality as the original. At least this was the feeling that I got from watching the series. I got that she retained the same emotion and spirit, the same regret. Now many will argue that it is the result of memories and stored behavior being released with the trigger of emotions, all of which is stored within genetic material.
As I write this, once again my inner-standing of European perception of life becomes clearer. The parallel with these concepts in ancient cultures cannot be ignored. This whole thing with cloning is based on regeneration of complex (layered with programs) water and electric currents arranged in a certain sequence to reproduce the same occurrence of life. However, that particular water was arranged from gases and ethers; brought into existence from a realm of different vibration. In Kemet, there are many manifestations of Water. Nun – cosmic water, Hapi – Water of the Nile. Tefnut – water spat forth from Ra.
The approach to cloning is always with such fervor and love of knowledge. A feeling of control and triumph over the inadequacies of man. Not so much an application to solve a problem or to evolve from the current state; to evolve from the current state would be to free oneself that man could ever be inadequate. This is why I do not say the Technology of Cloning, I say the Philosophy of Cloning.
Is the religious or philosophical concept that the soul and spirit, after biological death, begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual depending on the moral quality of the previous life’s actions.
Resurrection (anglicized from Latin resurrectio) is the concept of a living being’s literally coming back to life after death. It is largely a religious concept, where it is used in two distinct respects —a belief in the resurrection of individual souls that is current and ongoing (Christian idealism, realized eschatology), or else a belief in a singular “Resurrection of the Dead” event at the end of the world.
Is the making, modifications, usage and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems, methods of organization, in order to solve a problem, improve a preexisting solution to a problem, achieve a goal or perform a specific function.
The problem to be solved is that there is no true problem…except for clinging onto to systems that do not serve a purpose any more…behavior can be included as being defined as a system. This is to put it simply. There are many examples of Reincarnation/Resurrection in Nubian (Afrikan) culture, one of the most popular being the story of Asar (Osiris) what many have come to call The Ausarian Drama (keep in mind that this is a coinage and not the original name for the story). Interestingly enough, many current storylines use the formula of The Asarian Drama.
The righteous is attacked by the wicked, righteousness dies, wickedness rules, righteousness chooses a warrior to bring it back into balance, wickedness is defeated and righteousness is Reincarnated or Resurrected.
Now the key thing is to keep your AfroFuturistic Vision goggles on (and if I did not single you to put them on at the start of this Blog, my apologies) and do not allow your perception to be swept by the words Resurrection, Reincarnation, Religion and Technology. These words simply explain operations of matter, thought and elements in a particular scheme, they are not alive…as much as the thoughts behind them. Realizing this, we can see the game unfold and how our minds are attracted to what is called genres in writing.
So yes, the Asarian Drama, can easily be seen as cycles of nature and the human thought process. Yet, in the beginnings of Sci-Fi there was a stigmatized Good and Evil factor, which can cause imbalance. Nowadays such stigmas have been removed and the so-called Grey Area runs rampant, leaving the viewer somewhat dazed by ‘new’ moralistic values.
In any case, here are a few movies that deal with The Technology of Reincarnation/Resurrection:
The Mummy Returns
Defending Your Life
The Chronicles of Riddick
These are the flicks I can think of off-handed, I am sure you know of more, so please feel free to let me.
Whether it is cloning or reincarnation/resurrection, we can all agree that main points involved are:
1) The ability to hold consciousness of matter and thought (which is already hard to differentiate between the two) in the specific arrangement of the ‘first’ expression of flesh.
2) The ability to manifest the vibratory rate of the specific arrangement.
3) Being allowed by Nature, God, the law of probability, karma or the dynamic of physics to complete the operation.
However, for me, no matter (lol) which way you look at it, it all comes down to memory. Memory is a prominent key to substantiate someone being reborn. Whether the person after cloning, reincarnation or resurrection remembers their past behavior or events OR the people around them recognize the person’s behavior and personality. Someone has to be around to know who that person is otherwise what is the sense.
In Afro-Futurism, from my own opinion solely (or maybe not), the idea of Resurrection, Reincarnation and Cloning being in opposition of one another is mute. What is boils down to is the Why?
Why should it take place? Why should it pushed by individuals controlling the circumstances? Why?
Especially, when it is something that is going to take place anyway!!!!
And just as I was finishing this blog I was hit with a wave of Deja vu while choosing the image for this blog…somehow knowing I will feel a wave of Deja Vu while choosing the image.
Thandie Newton plays Dame Vaako, one of the many who have underwent a ‘resurrection’ through the harsh techniques of the Necromongers. Her character is strong…yet becomes twisted by the process of Reincarnation of the Necromongers. This techniques forces the soul and spirit to the very thresholds of tolerance for pain and beyond.
results from a search – Conversion
The Necromongers do not reproduce, as to not propogate life further, thus the reason they refer to all non-necros as breeders. All living Necromongers are converts, when they undergo conversion they receive the mark of the Necromonger
Two painful spikes stabbed into the sides of their necks, they learn how one pain can lessen another. After this “purification” the nerves are numbed, and color drains from the converts eyes and skin. The new converts wear, burned, tattered, and decayed robes.
This group is similar to the Eugenics movement of the late 1800’s even incorporating their ideas about sterilization. And it seems Dame Vaako is caught up in being reborn into a futuristic Rome…a bit Nubian Soul brings life to Sci-Fi…
More to follow…
Until then, enjoy this excerpt from Renpet that deals with the whole Resurrection/Reincarnation ‘phenomenon ’:
Chapter Abyss from Renpet –
The darkness that engulfed its being started to recede around a reddish rope like material that extended to what seemed like infinity. It could not sense itself physically or see anything that resembled a physical limb.
It wanted to touch the rope, that’s all it desired at the moment. Wanting to do so would necessitate working limbs which it did not possess. Regardless of this fact its desire grew and the more it grew the brighter the rope became. Feeling a swelling from within itself, something gradually grew from out of its being. Two arms unfurled like wings in front of it. At first they wildly flailed around without any sense of direction then eventually gave into the overwhelming desire––grabbing the rope.
The arms obeyed the whim and took the rope into their grasp, as they held the rope another desire overtook Larry’s soul.
It wanted to pull the rope as fast and with as much strength as possible. Before it could think another thought it moved at a miraculous rate although it was unable to tell where it was going or how far it traveled. The arms moved so quick that they appeared as a blinding flash at first, then like they were moving backwards and finally as if they were standing still. It started to feel familiar chaotic emotions but the feelings were unable to take root.
Little by little a light materialized in the distance. The closer it got to the light the more difficult the rope was to pull, consequently slowing down the speed of its motion.
The light was piercing and very inviting, almost like the
skies of Khenset. Pulling the rope became a near impossible feat but it carried on. Whatever vitality it possessed began to wane leaving it only with the notion of pulling.
Single minded in purpose it continued, keeping its
objective on the light that increasingly became something recognizable. A figure that it has seen before. A body. Its body. As if looking through an extremely illuminated flat screen, it saw its body lay motionless surrounded by a group of people. It mustered its last amount of energy and pulled with all its might.
For it, the next moments were indescribable. Its being fused with the tissue of its lungs expanding the dormant sacs, returning to it the capacity to breathe. Next, it fused with its heart restarting the flow of blood. Energy raced through its nervous system filling it with vitality. It was like his body was an intricate inflatable doll with air rushing into it; traveling to whatever areas it could fill.
As it fused with its brain, it experienced what made him despondent as a child into his adolescence. The clutching of old memories of abuse and desperation permeated all his cells; the promises he made to himself. Never to be beaten, never to show mercy, never to show emotion. He could see that he always had a choice. He would now choose to let those things go and start anew.
No one but Larry knew that his parents were psychotic and abusive throughout most of his life. The emergence of the Year reversed their condition and caused them to be extremely loving whereas before they were close to killing Larry with their parenting. Unfortunately, the damage done to Larry’s mind was irreversible. Once he discovered his abilities he vented his anger on anyone he wished; strange that he never harmed his parents.
“Dr. Hane! You won’t believe this. This young man is literally coming back to life. You have to get over here!” said the paramedic…
More to come…
