State of Black Sci-Fi 2012 Day 4

Rise in Excellence from Author DjaDja.

Day 4

The Upcoming Sci-Fi Novel ‘N’ –

A rebellious cosmic being uncovers her repressed past on a seemingly hostile planet of giants. Can she reconcile her traumatic past before the planet forces her out her shell?

Renpet Synopsis –

After the dramatic event of The Great Year, psychotic super-powered adolescents, self-righteous political figures and other-worldly entities struggle for psychological and spiritual balance in the wake of an all Black Planet.

From The Upcoming Sci-Fi Novel ‘N’ Chapter Medju Deyu – Family –

‘While Jnfr prepared the meal, Mu kept reaching for the spoon she was stirring with, looking to be helpful. She was already annoyed about having to throw out the soup she made earlier. She mentioned to me as she poured it out into the sink that the potency of it quickly turns rancid after being left out in the open and unattended. Mu did not let up, it glided over to the ingredients that needed preparation but was shoved away from the cutting board. It tried again, not minding the spoon being swatted at it; allowing some strikes to pass in and out. Jnfr’s face grew intense; the floor vibrated where she stood and sent a minor tremor throughout the house. She sighed deeply then washed the spoon thoroughly. I guess the water from the faucet and Mu are not one in the same.’

From The Sci-Fi Novel ‘Renpet’ Chapter Senu – Khpr

‘…Then there was Shakuan. Shakuan was indeed the strangest out of the group. He was the only guy they knew that still carried on that the Blackman was god, as if that mattered now or mattered at all. The Terrans concept of creation keeps them from experiencing the ever presence of Netcher. Nor do they fully realize that the strongly melaninated beings of this world were the caretakers of this planet. For the past few years, there were no beings on the earth who did not have a strong representation of melanin in their pigmentation and extremely coarse or curly hair. No one.’

Renpet Trivia – What do all the Accidental Killers share in common with their powers?

All the Accidental Killers of the town of Khenset have one thing in common when it comes to their ‘special gifts’. The answer can be found in the pages of Renpet. Hint – It is what makes a Terran an individual.

No that’s not me on the cover of Renpet. The original cover was more like a comic book cover with raw penciling and coloring. I still have the picture around and I liked the work the artist did on it. However, at the last moment I opted for a cover that would have a different impact. At first I was going to have a sleek female on the front in a sexy action pose then I decided for a more natural and cultural look. The rest is lifestory. Anyway, the most popular question I get  about the cover is “Is that you?” No, it is not me. However, Mike is.

Renpet involved more intuitive thought about my studies of metaphysics, body mechanics, hermetic principles and Dao. It wasn’t a question of research about what I didn’t know. My main concern was how do I take what I already know and put it into a story without being too metaphysical or symbolic. So that actually drove me to re-read the books I’ve read for entertainment. Currently, I am working on N, the next novel in the Renpet series. My research with this work so far involves auto-kinetics and paranormal abilities. As I habit, I have watched many horror movies from a scientific and psychic point of view. I have also watched Revolve and Limitless about five times each. Ninja Assassin as well, especially the bathroom scene.

I do my best to write from a perspective that embodies the living information from Kemet(Egypt) and the mind-state that the language I speak is a foreign tongue and my thoughts are my real voice.

Plans for 2012

This year I plan to finish two new books and work on the foundation of an anime. My vision is to create an entire universe from the world of Renpet and produce expressions of Renpet in the many facets of entertainment.
