Looking at the words Science and Fiction separately, we get:
To cut and divide; to separate one thing from another, to distinguish. – Science
Fashioning, to kneed, form out of clay, something invented. – Fiction
Science-Fiction in the original meaning, although many may have not have seen it this way, is the process of creation. The use of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. The idea and the physical manifestation.
To cut and divide; to separate one thing from another, to distinguish. – Left Hemisphere
Fashioning, to kneed, form out of clay, something invented. – Right Hemisphere
Keeping these things in mind, we can see how the precious veil that lives between what man has termed as fiction and non-fiction, has for so many years been shrouded by the world of Science-Fiction as well as drawing attention to itself by the very appearance of that shroud. And now, we live in a time where Science-Fiction has become the blueprint for many technological advances in war, medicine, entertainment and business. However, the foundation of the operations within Science-Fiction as well as Science, seem to rely on an External Technology. An External Science is the inorganic relationship between man and tool or the enhancement of man's faculties through the use of external devices and methods such as drugs or robotic mechanisms. This has been the on-going cycle expressed in Western Culture since the marking of its significant periods ( B.C. - A.D.) within its LifeCycle. And as we know, every cycle has a rebirth...that rebirth is Afro-Futurism.
